Homelander vs. Ghoul: "The Boys" and Fallout to Compete for Top Honors at Astra Awards

In the scripted series segment at the 2026 Astra TV Awards, Prime Video made a particularly strong showing. "The Boys," its spin-off "Gen V," and Fallout garnered an impressive number of nominations, positioning the platform strongly in the awards race.

In the "Best Drama Series" category, "The Boys" will compete for the main statuette with the mystical thriller "From" from MGM+ and the historical drama "Outlander." "The Boys" is also nominated for Best Ensemble Cast in a Streaming Series.

Antony Starr, who plays Homelander, is nominated for Best Drama Actor. His main competitor in this section will be Walton Goggins, who received a nomination for his role as the Ghoul in the Fallout adaptation. Jensen Ackles could take home the statuette for Best Supporting Actor, while Giancarlo Esposito and Paul Reiser are vying for guest role awards. Additionally, "The Boys" and Fallout are recognized in the Best Directing for a Drama Series category.

"Gen V" will compete in the comedy block of the awards. "The Boys" spin-off is featured in the Best Ensemble Cast in a Streaming Series category, and also received nominations for directing and writing among comedy shows. In the acting nominations for the comedy sector, John Cena was also recognized for his role in "Peacemaker" from HBO Max and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who played the lead role in "Wonder Man" for Disney+.

In the "Best TV Adaptation of a Book" category, the fantasy project "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" from the "Game of Thrones" universe by HBO is presented. Its main rival will be the detective series "Young Sherlock" from Prime Video.

The winners of the 2026 Astra TV Awards will be announced on August 15 at a ceremony in Los Angeles.
