During the recent Minecraft Live broadcast, Warner Bros. confirmed new casting assignments for the upcoming sequel "Minecraft in Cinema". In addition to Kirsten Dunst as Alex, the creators introduced Matt Berry as a new member of the "Minecraft family". Berry previously appeared in the first film in a cameo role as a villager, but in the sequel, he will embody a completely different character, details of which are kept strictly secret.

During the presentation, the actor was given a vest identical to the one Steve wears. This gave rise to the theory of Herobrine's appearance – a mythical character from Minecraft fan lore who looks almost like Steve but has white eyes.

The first film drew additional attention to the theory. Some viewers recalled a scene with an Enderman (Ender Wanderer) hallucination, where the characters' eyes glowed purple, while Steve's turned white. Now fans speculate that this could have been a hint at Herobrine's future appearance.

Furthermore, Matt Berry was previously considered for the role of Steve in the first film, but the actor was forced to decline due to commitments to other projects. This adds additional meta-context to the theories. But until Warner Bros. reveals plot details, all these versions remain speculation.

The premiere of "Minecraft in Cinema: In the Square" is scheduled for July 23, 2027.
