Marketing remains an important element even for projects like Grand Theft Auto VI to ensure pre-release engagement.

Grand Theft Auto VI is actively discussed online, and old promotional materials are being re-examined, but Take-Two still plans to conduct a full-fledged marketing campaign. Some players do not understand the publisher's logic.

In an interview with IGN, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick explained his vision, drawing a parallel with the film industry:

I believe that no matter how big a franchise is, consumers need to engage with it before release. I think the film industry also confirms this.

The manager noted that even films from major movie franchises receive expensive advertising campaigns because it is necessary to engage the audience in advance.

As a specific example, Zelnick cited "Mission: Impossible." It is very well-known, but "huge money" is still spent on promoting its sequels:

[...] believe me, the studio will still spend huge money on marketing that sequel, even though we roughly know what to expect and know that we will see Tom Cruise on screen – and that makes us happy. Marketing still remains an important part of any release in the entertainment industry.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release in November of this year on consoles. The release date for the PC version of the game has not yet been announced.

Earlier, while re-watching the GTA VI trailer, some noticed a strangeness in the promo art for the video. There is an opinion that artificial intelligence might have been used to create the image.
