God of War: Laufey to Show Familiar Events from a Different Perspective? Players Await Faye and Baldur's Meeting

The first trailer for God of War: Laufey reminded players of the beginning of God of War 2018. This is not surprising, as the events of both games unfold in parallel, and the new installment will show a familiar story from Faye's perspective.

In God of War 2018, Kratos and Atreus embarked on a journey after Faye's death to fulfill her last wish. This event marked the beginning of the Norse chapter of the series.

God of War: Laufey transports players to the same period, but through Faye's eyes. After her death, the heroine finds herself in Everywhen — a mysterious afterlife for gods. Because of this, some fans speculate that Kratos's visions and premonitions in God of War and God of War Ragnarök might have been more than just memories.

Comparisons of scenes from the two games have already appeared online. According to players, Santa Monica Studio intentionally shows the same events from different perspectives. If for Kratos his wife's death was the beginning of a journey with his son, for Faye it is the beginning of her own journey through the world of gods.

Fans also expect a large number of references to God of War and God of War Ragnarök. One player wrote:

If God of War: Laufey takes place in the afterlife of the gods and runs parallel to the events of the 2018 game, imagine Faye and Baldur meeting in the finale. After all, Faye was Baldur's original target in the first game.

Therefore, part of the community is already looking forward to "big meetings" with characters from the Norse saga. Among the most likely candidates, fans name Baldur, who played an important role in the events of God of War.
