In late May, TBH: Task Bar Hero was released on PC via Steam. It's one of many miniature idle RPGs released on Valve's service, but the new title managed to attract increased attention from the gaming community.

The "gameplay" of TBH: Task Bar Hero unfolds on the Windows taskbar. Developers suggest assembling a team of heroes that will automatically fight monsters while the user works/does other things.

The "Steam Marketplace" is connected to the project. This financial component clearly attracted both ordinary players and entrepreneurs who set up bots to "play" in hopes of earning money. As a result, the peak online player count has already exceeded 200,000 and continues to set new records.

The popularity of TBH: Task Bar Hero created problems — Steam item servers experienced increased load and the system started glitching. The developers contacted Valve's service support, where they were confirmed that because the studio "did not properly adhere to server usage rules," the game began sending an excessive number of server requests and caused problems on Steam servers.

Valve demanded that fixes be made to the item system in TBH: Task Bar Hero:

In this regard, Steam has demanded a reduction in the number of items in accordance with the rules, and for the stable operation of the service, we need to reduce the variety of items traded on the marketplace. We want to assure you first and foremost that this is a forced technical solution, taken so that everyone can continue to enjoy the game.

The creators of TBH: Task Bar Hero apologized to the community:

We sincerely apologize for developing the game without sufficient technical verification and leading to this situation.
