GTA Vice City Unity Edition Released - Trailer for Alternative Game Version Presented
Now players have another version of the Rockstar Games classic.
In early June, modder AbsolutVM announced the release of Grand Theft Auto Vice City Unity Engine Edition. This is an alternative version of the classic Rockstar Games title running on a different engine.
The tech enthusiast ported the game to Unity and presented a release trailer for the project's beta version.
In one of his video diaries, the author of GTA Vice City UE Edition showed working with the console, with which he could change parameters (health, speed, etc.), and also tested multiplayer:
Welcome to the 80s. From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes this story – of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile. Grand Theft Auto returns! Vice City is a huge sprawling city ranging from the beaches to the swamps and the glitz to the ghetto, and is the most diverse, complete and alive digital city ever created. Combining non-linear gameplay with a character-driven narrative, you are given the chance to take over this decadent metropolis brimming with delights.
AbsolutVM's video is available at the following link. He published the project files online for public access.
Previously, the official remaster Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition was released, which was criticized by many players due to its graphics style and various technical issues. There is also a fan-made version based on the Rage engine from GTA IV, which was named “GTA: Vice City Nextgen Edition” and attracted the attention of Take-Two / Rockstar Games lawyers.
