According to Hollywood trade media, Jason Momoa has left the cast of the upcoming Helldivers adaptation. The reasons for the departure of the "Aquaman" and "Dune" star have not yet been disclosed.
Despite losing the actor, Sony Pictures does not plan to cancel the project. The film is in active pre-production, and the studio is already looking for a new lead actor.
Justin Lin, director of several "Fast & Furious" installments, is still attached to direct the film. He is also producing the film through Perfect Storm Entertainment in collaboration with Hutch Parker and Asad Qizilbash from PlayStation Productions.
Helldivers is still scheduled for a wide release on November 10, 2027.
