Nintendo has confirmed the development of a remake of the iconic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The updated version of the game will be released on Switch 2 by the end of 2026.

Rumors about the remake's existence first surfaced in March, and have now received official confirmation during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation. However, details are still scarce: the company limited itself to a short teaser and did not reveal the features of the updated version.

This is the third major re-release for Ocarina of Time. The game first launched in 1998 on Nintendo 64 and is considered one of the most influential in the industry's history. In 2011, the project received a remake for Nintendo 3DS, and is now preparing to return in a new form on Switch 2.

What improvements await players – revamped graphics, updated gameplay, or additional content – is currently unknown. Nintendo has promised to share more information later.
