Netflix Casts "Scooby-Doo: The Beginning" Series - 15 New Actors Revealed
The upcoming "Scooby-Doo" reimagining has received a massive cast update.
Netflix has finalized the cast for the series "Scooby-Doo: The Beginning".
Fifteen actors have joined the cast, including Sherilyn Fenn ("Twin Peaks"), Bruce McGill ("Reacher"), Rusty Schwimmer ("The Righteous Gemstones"), Sauriyan Sapkota ("The Midnight Club"), Peter Macon ("Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes"), and Sara Gilbert.

Maxwell Simkins, Jona Xiao, Dani Deetté, Elise Sanville, Alex Ailes, Avery Kristen Pohl, Pamela Mitchell, Ross Kimball, and Wynn Everett will also appear in the series. Details of their roles have not yet been revealed, nor has the secret character played by Paul Walter Hauser.

The new cast members join the previously announced quartet of main characters. Young detectives will be played by Mckenna Grace (Daphne Blake), Tanner Buchanan (Shaggy Rogers), Abby Ryder Fortson (Velma Dinkley), and Maxwell Jenkins (Fred Jones). Scooby-Doo will, of course, join them – for the first time in the franchise's history, he will be played by a real Great Dane puppy.
The series is described as a modern reimagining of the franchise created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears in 1969. According to the official synopsis, the events will unfold during the characters' last summer camp vacation. Shaggy and Daphne find themselves drawn into a mystical investigation involving a lost Great Dane puppy who may have been the only witness to a paranormal murder.
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg serve as showrunners, writers, and executive producers for the project. The premiere of "Scooby-Doo: The Beginning" on Netflix is scheduled for 2027.
