Why Does Stellar Blade Ignore Xbox? Community Discusses Strange Decision

Stellar Blade continues to expand its platform list, but Xbox Series X/S remains on the sidelines, causing player dissatisfaction.

Recently, many expected the game to eventually be released on Microsoft's console. However, the situation turned out differently: the project first left its PlayStation exclusive status, and then was announced for Nintendo Switch 2. Xbox remains the only major platform without a version of the game.

After the announcement of Stellar Blade 2: Blood Rain at Summer Game Fest 2026 and the confirmation of the first part for Switch 2 during Nintendo Direct, many comments from Xbox owners appeared on social networks. Players are asking why the game is being released on new platforms but ignores Xbox Series X/S.

The situation looks strange against the backdrop of Shift Up's statements about wanting to reach the widest possible audience. After the PC version was released, it was expected that the next step would be a release on Xbox, but there is no official confirmation of this yet.

One theory is agreements with Sony, which could have limited the game's release on competing platforms, as previously happened with Final Fantasy VII Remake and Death Stranding.

Another hypothesis is related to technical difficulties, in particular with optimization for Xbox Series S. It is also assumed that Microsoft could try to attract the project to Xbox Game Pass, compensating for part of the porting costs.

For now, all versions remain at the rumor level.
