Publisher Lyrical Games and studio One More Level announced the postponement of the release date for the first-person souls-like Valor Mortis. The game was scheduled to be released on September 24, but now the release will take place on October 13 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
According to the developers, the decision is due to the extremely busy schedule of game releases in September. On September 24 alone, Silent Hill: Townfall and CONTROL Resonant are scheduled for release, and the very next day will see the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword. In addition, throughout the month, projects such as The Blood of Dawnwalker, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Minecraft Dungeons II, Orbitals, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, Valheim, and a number of other major games are expected to appear.
We want to give Valor Mortis — and your wallets — a little more breathing room. Therefore, we decided to postpone the release date to October 13.
In an address to players, One More Level studio noted that September turned out to be “absolutely packed” with anticipated new releases. The developers admitted that they had anticipated such a turn of events, but the dates had been agreed upon in advance as part of a partner presentation, and it was not possible to change them earlier.
The developers also reported that they recently released a demo version of the game on Steam and have already received a large amount of feedback from users. The additional time until release will allow the team to make improvements and refine the project based on the feedback received.
