Pixar unveiled a teaser for Gatto - an animated film starring actors from "The Matrix" and "The Avengers"

The new Pixar project will center around cats.

In June, the YouTube channel of the animation studio Pixar published a teaser trailer for a new animated film titled Gatto (in CIS countries, it was released as “Nine Lives of Nero the Cat”).

Information about the film's synopsis has appeared online:

In “Nine Lives of Nero the Cat,” after many years spent navigating the canals of superstitious Venice, Italy, Nero begins to question whether he has lived the right life. Indebted to Rocco, the local feline mafia boss, Nero finds himself in a predicament and is forced to forge a truly unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his destiny — if only Venice doesn't get to him first.

Gatto is directed by Enrico Casarosa, who previously directed another studio film, “Luca” (2021). The main characters are voiced by Laurence Fishburne, known for his role as Morpheus in “The Matrix,” and Mark Ruffalo — Hulk/Bruce Banner from “The Avengers.”

The world premiere of Gatto is scheduled for March 5, 2027.
