RTS Roguelike About Commanding an Army with Tabletop Battlefield Battles Released on Steam

The developers of Tabletop Tavern will offer players control over various factions.

In June, Tabletop Tavern by TJ studio was released on PC via Steam. The authors describe their project as a “roguelike” with real-time strategy elements.

Players are invited to control their self-assembled army during a campaign:

Each playthrough of Tabletop Tavern is a new adventure, forcing you to face challenges and grow stronger. Recruit new troops, find rare equipment, and unlock permanent upgrades to adapt your strategy. With increasing difficulty, random encounters, dozens of heroes, and multiple factions, campaigns are always different.

Players will be able to control their warriors during real-time battles. The game's authors emphasize the importance of choosing position, timing, and troop combinations. For example, they mentioned the ability to create “impenetrable walls of spears” to neutralize cavalry.

Players can control unique factions with different playstyles: “Lead elite Viking infantry, monstrous trolls, giants and orcs, agile and vibrant elves, brave humans, resilient dwarves... the list goes on and on!”.

Battles in Tabletop Tavern will unfold on a “tabletop battlefield” and, according to the developers, each such encounter will resemble a living toy soldier game.

The Tabletop Tavern page on Steam is available at the following link. The game received “very positive” reviews, with a rating of 91%. In recent days, it has repeatedly broken its peak online record – this weekend it surpassed 3200 players.
