Lies of P Game Director Nominated for Neowiz CEO Position

This will be the first time in the company's history that a game developer will directly assume the CEO position.

South Korean company Neowiz is preparing for significant changes in its leadership. The developer and publisher announced that Jason Park (Park Sung-jun), head of the New Game Development Group and director of Round8 Studio, has been nominated for the position of the company's new CEO.

The appointment is expected to be approved at a shareholders' meeting in August. After that, Park will assume the leadership role and co-lead the company with current CEO Bae Tae-geun in a dual-CEO format.

The company explained the decision by its desire to strengthen its expertise in development and improve the efficiency of new project implementation. Neowiz intends to focus resources on creating new games and further expanding its presence in the global market.

Park has been with Neowiz for over ten years. In 2013, he served as development director at Neowiz CRS, then led the console division at Bless Studio. In 2019, he became the head of Round8 Studio, and since 2023, he has been responsible for the New Game Development Group, overseeing the lineup of next-generation projects.

One of Park's most notable achievements is his involvement in the creation of Lies of P and the Lies of P: Overture expansion. Despite his upcoming promotion, he will retain leadership of the New Game Development Group. According to him, combining these roles will allow for a closer link between the company's management strategy and the development process of key projects.
