In June, M.Video disclosed data on the sales of football simulators in its retail network. It turned out that over the past 15 years, more than 850 thousand copies of FIFA and EA Sports FC have been sold.
Representatives of the network said that football simulators continue to be one of the most popular game series in the Russian market. At the same time, the transition from the FIFA brand to EA Sports FC "went unnoticed by the audience." It is noted that the new games quickly became leaders in both sales and revenue:
The study showed that the most popular among Russian players were the FIFA series releases that came out during the active development of the console market in Russia and the dominance of the physical format. FIFA 15 became the absolute leader in total sales across all platforms. The top five most demanded games also included FIFA 20, FIFA 19, FIFA 17, and FIFA 16.
M.Video analyzed the data and noted that the most successful releases for the franchise in Russia were those from the mid and late 2010s. It is noted that interest in football simulators remains today — even after the brand change in 2023, EA Sports FC "continued to attract a wide audience." The most successful project from the lineup was EA Sports FC 25 — it entered the top 10 at tenth place.
