Pre-order for the new starter set for the TTRPG "The One Ring" has opened in Russia

The opportunity to purchase a new starter set for the second edition of the TTRPG "The One Ring" has emerged. It is being published for the first time in Russian and has a number of significant differences from the first starter: an updated version of the abridged rules, a new adventure, five pre-generated heroes, a combat stance template, a black and red dice set, as well as cardboard enemy and character tokens.

The Pandora Box publishing house has launched a pre-order campaign on the CrowdRepublic crowdfunding platform for the new starter set for the second edition of "The One Ring" – a tabletop role-playing game based on the books "The Hobbit, or There and Back Again" and "The Lord of the Rings".

Currently, the physical version of the set (including a PDF) can be purchased for 2490 rubles, the PDF version for 1050 rubles, the core rulebook for 4490 rubles, the limited edition of the core rulebook for 11,000 rubles, and a unique limited edition of the core rulebook with an open ring for 15,500 rubles.

You can also purchase themed laminated bookmarks, cardboard tokens, special dice, a Loremaster's screen, a Rivendell guide, isometric maps, tablecloths, and other accessories. Participants of the previous campaign will be able to get the set for 2150 rubles, and those who purchased the "On the Hill and Under the Hill" reward for 1850 rubles.

In the new starter set, the abridged rulebook has become clearer and more structured, with sections that were not present before. The main adventure has become more serious and more akin to the dark and dangerous stories of the heroes of "The Lord of the Rings".

The new starter set provides players with useful and unique materials for battles. These include: six types of dangerous enemies, a combat stance template that simplifies combat, five diverse pre-generated heroes (Elf, Dwarf, Hobbit, Bardings, and Ranger of the North), as well as cardboard tokens (pawns) of enemies and heroes on stands.

Unlike the first starter set, which contains a set of engraved ivory-colored dice, the new set uses a black and red set of engraved dice, reflecting its darker tone. In addition, it contains a letter from Gilraen and a map of Eriador – and nothing else. Therefore, it is almost twice cheaper than the first starter, but only partially duplicates it – with the abridged rulebook. The new starter set can be used as an addition to the first starter, diversifying the gaming experience, or used separately.

Regarding the stretch goals of the campaign, the situation is as follows: 350,000 rubles – all physical copies of the new starter's brochures will be printed on thicker paper, 500,000 rubles – an isometric map of the Anduin Vale location, 650,000 rubles – a two-plane map of Moria (top view and side view).

It is worth noting that thanks to the gamers, the team's treasury already holds 481,040 rubles. Delivery of the aforementioned items is likely to begin in August or September 2026.
