Russian Musician Talks About Working on GTA VI Soundtrack - Rumor
The new installment of the franchise will feature diverse music, including tracks from Lavrutov.
Rockstar Games recently released a new mini-trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI and announced the imminent start of pre-orders.
Against this backdrop, Russian-Argentine musician Dmitry “Lavrutov” Lavrutov spoke out on social media. He responded to the developers' announcement and wrote that he participated in working on the soundtrack:
Thank you so much, Rockstar. I never could have imagined that my music would one day be featured in a game I've always admired. I am incredibly happy, grateful, and honored to be a part of this. Thank you for believing in me […] Let's go!
Some players believe that Lavrutov simply decided to draw attention to himself with such a statement amidst the GTA VI discussion. They noted that his social media account, where this post was published, appeared this month. It is also noted that the style of his other tracks differs from what can be heard in the game's teaser.
In recent years, Dmitry Lavrutov has been working in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is known as “Lavrutov.” His music combines elements of lo-fi, cinematic sound, and alternative R&B. Earlier this year, he announced the release of his new single “Ice Water” and a European tour.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on consoles in November of this year, with pre-orders expected to open in the coming days. Recently, an artist showed his version of the cover art, conceived long before Rockstar's official art presentation.
The release date for the PC version of GTA VI has not yet been announced.
