Pre-orders for Steam Machine open in Russia. Prices put Valve's device on par with gaming laptops and "Zhiguli"

Russian stores have started accepting pre-orders for Valve's Steam Machine. The price for the basic version of the device with a 512 GB SSD starts from 100 to 150 thousand rubles, while the model with a 2 TB drive will cost 150–190 thousand rubles.

The recommended retail price from Valve itself, converted to rubles, is 78 thousand.

Notably, such prices from Russian platforms put the Steam Machine on par with gaming laptops, which can offer higher performance for the same money. For less than 120 thousand rubles, you can already buy a laptop with an RTX 5060 on board, which can provide higher performance in games. Because of this, the attractiveness of Valve's new product for Russian buyers may be questionable.
