Some Rockstar Games fans have been waiting a very long time not only for Grand Theft Auto VI. Rumors have long circulated online that the studio is also developing a full next-gen update for Red Dead Redemption 2 for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles.

Recently, pre-orders for GTA VI started, and against this background, players once again remembered RDR 2. They began to ask insider NateTheHate2, who in February of this year stated that (as far as he “knows”) the next-gen update for the game is planned for release in 2026.

NateTheHate2 replied to players that the developers' plans might have changed:

[…] plans changed when the release of GTA VI was confirmed in November. [The RDR 2 update] could be in a finished state and released when Rockstar deems it appropriate. If GTA had been postponed, the RDR2 update could have been used to soften the blow. But since there is no postponement… now they can hold onto it.

Some players have already pre-ordered Grand Theft Auto VI, which is scheduled for release on November 19 this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The release date for the PC version has not yet been announced.

The game has attracted a lot of attention, so scammers are trying to trick players by promising them “early access” and a “PC version.”
