Previously, the updated game page in one of the stores indicated a date of September 4, 2026, which led some players to believe that Capcom wanted to avoid high competition at the end of the month. During the presentation, the company confirmed the original date.

The end of September is packed with major releases, and Capcom, apparently, is not going to change its plans.

In the new gameplay, the developers demonstrated a boss battle, fluid dodges, parries, and spectacular sword fights. Capcom wants to create a game that is simultaneously spectacular, technically sophisticated, and dynamic.

Rumors of an earlier release date were not confirmed — Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released on September 25, 2026.
