The actor who played Bayek believes that the show's creators should not get carried away with innovations.

Abubakar Salim, who gave his voice and likeness to Bayek in Assassin's Creed Origins, shared his thoughts on the upcoming Netflix series. In an interview with ScreenRant, the actor urged its creators to treat the franchise's legacy with care and not try to radically change its formula.

"You just have to think about the community that originally gave this franchise life. Give them what they loved in the beginning. It's very easy to get carried away with innovations in such things when there's no need for them. The project needs its core: the Creed itself, historical elements, and, of course, the modern-day storyline."

He also believes that the series format is ideal for its adaptation, as it allows for more time with the characters and gradually reveals their story.

It has already been officially confirmed that the first season will tell an original story set in Ancient Rome in 64 AD, during the Great Fire. However, it is still unknown whether the modern-day storyline will be preserved in the series.

Roberto Patino ("Westworld") and David Wiener ("Halo") are the showrunners of the project, with Toby Wallace ("Euphoria") and Lola Petticrew ("The Sisters Conspiracy") playing the main roles. The series is currently in active production: filming is taking place in Italy at Cinecittà Studios. The premiere date has not yet been announced.
