Will GTA VI be released on Switch 2? Insider talks about resolved technical issues
Rumors about a GTA VI version for Switch 2 have been circulating since late 2025 and have resurfaced thanks to informant Nash Weedle. According to him, the main technical issues of porting have already been resolved, and external specialists involved in porting large projects to Nintendo platforms are working on the adaptation.
This is an important point, as GTA VI will be one of the most technologically complex games of its generation. The Switch 2 version is expected to have a reduced resolution, simplified graphics, and other performance compromises.
If GTA VI is indeed released on Switch 2, it will most likely happen after its release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar will probably focus on the main versions first.
