Stone Wins Vote for Best PlayStation Director

Well-known blogger Luke Stephens conducted a poll on his YouTube channel, trying to find out who would do a better job managing PlayStation: Jim Ryan (former head of the gaming division), Hermen Hulst (current head), or a stone (a simple rock). As many commentators believe, the result was quite predictable — the stone won by a huge margin.

PlayStation has always been famous for strong single-player games (God of War, The Last of Us, Horizon, Spider-Man). Under Ryan and Hulst, the company sharply turned towards live-service games and abandoning its identity — and this did not work, while the quality and quantity of exclusives declined. Players are also unhappy with studio closures and believe that PlayStation management consists of people who completely misunderstand the gaming industry and do not value fans.
