PlayStation 5 Received a Firmware Update

Another system update for PS5 became available without prior announcement. After turning on the console, users will see a prompt to install firmware version 26.04-13.42.00.

The update downloads automatically in rest mode or when the system starts. A console restart is required to complete the installation.

In its official description, Sony once again limited itself to a brief list of changes. The company stated that the main goal of the new version 26.04-13.42.00 is to improve overall software performance and enhance system stability.

The update does not bring new interface features or additional personalization options. Such small patches are needed to optimize console performance and its stable interaction with modern games.
