Domino's Pizza UK and KFC jokingly criticized Sony's plans to completely abandon the release of new games on physical media. The companies published satirical messages on the social network X after Sony's announcement about switching to an exclusively digital format for game distribution.

Domino's Pizza UK published a parody "official statement." In it, the company "announced" that from April 1, 2027, it would cease production of physical pizzas and switch exclusively to digital.

Consumers will be able to download the full range of codes for our delicious pizzas and, using the power of imagination, enjoy them exclusively in virtual form," the message says. In addition, the chain joked that the brand slogan would be changed to the phrase "Domin-oh-hoo-whose-dumb-idea-was-this?"

KFC also joined the action. In its post, the company ironically stated that it "is ceasing to offer products in physical format today," and that they can now only be obtained through the mobile application "in the form of fake PNG files."
