The fifth season of "The Rising of the Shield Hero" will be released in 2027 - the first trailer has been unveiled

During its own presentation at Anime Expo 2026, Crunchyroll unveiled the first materials for the fifth season of the anime "The Rising of the Shield Hero". The continuation received a debut teaser, a new key poster, and an official release window - the premiere will take place in 2027.

The new season is once again being produced by Kinema Citrus studio. Hitoshi Haga, who worked on the fourth season, remains the director. His assistant is Takadori Yamamoto, Keigo Koyanagi is responsible for the script, Franziska van Wulfen, Sana Komatsu, and Masahiro Suwa are creating the character designs, and Kevin Penkin, Alfredo Sirica, and Natalie Jeffreys are once again writing the music.

The anime is based on the light novel series of the same name by Aneko Yusagi. The plot tells the story of a student, Naofumi, who, along with three other chosen ones, was summoned to another world to save it from an impending catastrophe. After experiencing cruel betrayal, the hero becomes an outcast, but over time finds loyal allies and becomes one of the main defenders of the universe. The upcoming fifth season will pick up the events of the fourth and will show in detail the confrontation with the state of Kutenro.
