The game will be released on August 3 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Game Freak has revealed additional details about its post-apocalyptic action game, Beast of Reincarnation. According to project director Kota Furusima, the game will offer approximately 30 hours of gameplay and will consist of about 10 major stages.
Developers previously confirmed that Beast of Reincarnation is not an open-world game. Instead, the project is divided into separate large-scale locations that can be freely explored. Players will need to search for useful items, solve puzzles, and study the environment to facilitate their further journey.
In an interview with Game Informer, Furusima noted that the game includes approximately ten "stages," but did not specify whether the stated duration refers only to the main storyline or also includes side content.
Despite obvious similarities to soulslikes and some parallels with Sekiro, Beast of Reincarnation uses a different approach to game mechanics. For example, resting does not revive defeated enemies, and after character death, the player does not lose accumulated progress. All already unlocked points and areas remain accessible, so the developers abandoned "roguelike" elements that force players to repeatedly go through the same sections. At the same time, the game will maintain a high level of difficulty, which can be adjusted to personal preferences.
One of the central themes of Beast of Reincarnation will be growth and overcoming difficulties. This is reflected in the story of the main character Emma, who struggles with the mysterious Blight, as well as in her relationship with her companion Ku — a creature known as a Malefact and also associated with this disease. During their journey, players will encounter powerful bosses called Nushi.
