Amidst a challenging week for Xbox, Alinea Analytics reported that Forza Horizon 6 became the most profitable new game of 2026 on Steam.

Forza Horizon 6 generated $197.7 million in revenue less than two months after its release. It is the most profitable new game of the year on Steam. Approximately $4 million came from DLC, including nearly $2 million from VIP Membership (doubled event payouts and other bonuses). Compared to its launch, Forza Horizon 6 is generating revenue three times faster than Forza Horizon 5 in 2021. Currently, 3.5 million copies of Horizon 6 have been sold on Steam.

Earlier, Alinea Analytics also estimated the game's total sales across all platforms and marketplaces at 6.4 million copies. More than half of these sales came from Steam, with the remainder from the Xbox Store on consoles and PC. Approximately 6 million users played the project via Game Pass.

Amidst mass layoffs at Xbox, no problems have been reported at Playground Games so far. This is likely due to the successful launch of Forza Horizon 6 and the anticipation of the Fable release.
