DC Studios is developing a solo project about Poison Ivy, set in Matt Reeves' "The Batman" universe. This was revealed by journalist and insider Jeff Sneider in the latest episode of John Rocha's The Hot Mic podcast.
According to Sneider, the project will be part of the same Gotham version as "The Batman" with Robert Pattinson and "The Penguin" with Colin Farrell. The insider did not disclose any other details. It is unknown who will produce the series or when filming will begin.
However, Sneider's information curiously aligns with a fresh rumor about "The Batman – Part 2." Earlier, an anonymous user on the DCULeaks subreddit reported that Scarlett Johansson would play Poison Ivy in the film, not Hilda Dent, as previously assumed.
If both reports are true, the second "Batman" film could introduce Pamela Isley before the launch of her solo project. Reeves used a similar scheme to introduce viewers to Ozzy Cobb in the 2022 film, after which Colin Farrell's Penguin received a separate series. Johansson's casting, in this case, seems logical: the actress is well-known enough to headline an independent project, rather than being limited to the role of another Batman antagonist in a single film.
The premiere of "The Batman – Part 2" is scheduled for October 1, 2027.
