Dead Space series creator Glen Schofield has definitively left the gaming industry. After 35 years of work and creating renowned projects, the developer announced the end of his career.

Schofield, who also worked on The Callisto Protocol, Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain, and several Call of Duty installments, announced his decision in a LinkedIn video. Instead of explaining the reasons for his departure, he spent about four minutes thanking colleagues, family, and companies EA and Activision, before addressing aspiring developers.

This is an incredible industry with so many talented people. I know times are tough right now, but folks, the future is really, really bright. I wish you, the new generation of game creators, good luck. Explore, experiment, have fun, and don't forget that the most important thing is the idea.

Thus, hopes for Dead Space 4 from the original author have finally vanished. However, the developer is not completely leaving the gaming sphere — it was previously announced that he will attend the MadHorror festival in Madrid, which will take place from October 30 to November 2.
