Ayaneo reveals the look of the KONKR Pocket Advance handheld console - GBA fans are pleased
Ayaneo has finally shown a high-quality image of the KONKR Pocket Advance handheld console. Its design should appeal to fans of Nintendo's Game Boy Advance.
The rumor about the appearance of the KONKR Pocket Advance handheld console turned out to be true. Judging by the new image published by Ayaneo, the device indeed closely resembles Nintendo's Game Boy Advance.
The KONKR sub-brand is aimed at a more "affordable" market segment compared to Ayaneo's premium design and pricing policy.
The Pocket Advance aims to stay as close as possible to the original GBA – it will likely feature a similar-sized 3:2 aspect ratio display, thick bezels, vibrant colors, two triggers, and additional buttons to make emulating other consoles a bit more comfortable.
Ayaneo representatives wrote: "A classic doesn't fade with time. A legendary handheld console that spans generations, preserving memories of the golden era of gaming. Now it returns in a bold new form as the KONKR Pocket Advance."
At the moment, the specifications, price, and release date of the new product are unknown. It can be assumed that the body is also made of plastic, given that it is a KONKR product. Many like this form factor, and considering the additional power, Ayaneo's shell, and high-quality buttons, a decent device for GBA fans can be expected.
But everything, of course, depends on the console's cost and whether Ayaneo will release enough units. Players well remember the fiasco with the Pocket Micro 2, when supplies were twice sold out instantly.
In the coming days, the team will surely provide more information about the Pocket Advance, and a full announcement will most likely take place during one of the upcoming streams with Ayaneo CEO Arthur Zhang.
