According to film critic John Campea, DC Studios is considering Mitchell Slaggert ("Landman") for the role of Batman in the revamped DC cinematic universe. This refers to the film codenamed "The Brave and the Bold," dedicated to Batman and Damian Wayne, with the script being written by Christina Hodson, screenwriter of "The Flash" and "Birds of Prey."

Andy Muschietti is still listed as the director of the film, but after the success of the series "It: Welcome to Derry," he has become one of the most sought-after figures within Warner Bros., which may affect his participation in the project. Against this backdrop, there were also rumors that James Gunn himself might direct the film, but this information has not yet been confirmed.

James Gunn himself previously stated that he does not plan to pit the new Batman film against Matt Reeves' "The Batman Part II," so the film's release will not happen anytime soon. Especially considering the postponement of Matt Reeves' film from October 2027 to February 2028.
