Players in Fogpiercer will have various tools to fight off bandits.

In July, publisher Hooded Horse announced the release of a new project, Fogpiercer. The game was developed by Mad Cookies Studio, previously known for the sci-fi dungeon exploration action roguelike Cardbob.

Their new project is also a roguelike — with cards. In Fogpiercer, the developers invite players to a world shrouded in a deadly fog. Players will have to assemble their train to determine their starting deck, and then make their way through locations inhabited by hostile bandits:

Choose from a variety of locomotives, carriages, and drivers to lead your expedition. Each decision adds its own set of cards to your starting deck, influencing the options and abilities available throughout your journey. Gather resources to upgrade or purchase new carriages that will complement your deck with tactical possibilities.

Battles in Fogpiercer are turn-based, and players will have different options to combat threats. For example, you can use an "artillery" card to deal damage or shoot and stun a target with an "ice arrow."

The first reviews of Fogpiercer on Steam are "very positive," with an 87% rating.
