Call of Duty Ambience is styled after the Xbox 360 interface. Users can choose recordings from Call of Duty: Black Ops, Black Ops II, and Modern Warfare 2.

Developer Mike Wing introduced an unusual project Call of Duty Ambience — a web application that plays voice chat recordings from classic Call of Duty games as a kind of "background noise." According to the author, while most people fall asleep to white noise or relaxing nature sounds, he prefers listening to player squabbles in multiplayer.

The application is published on the AppDrop platform, where independent developers host small experimental projects. Wing has previously released unconventional applications, including Steam Sale Simulator and Xbox 360 Messenger.

The content fully matches the atmosphere of multiplayer matches from those years: loud arguments, mutual insults, random stories, noises from poor-quality microphones, and other characteristic features of voice communication. Despite the chaos, it is this atmosphere that evokes a sense of nostalgia in many players.
