"Game over, man! Game over!": Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 shooter gets release date

Daybreak Game Company also revealed the editions' contents.

The cooperative third-person shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be released on August 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store). Simultaneously, the game's edition contents and details of the first paid expansion, inspired by the film "Alien: Romulus," were announced.

The Standard Edition is priced at $49.99, while the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition costs $69.99. In addition to the game itself, the expanded edition includes two cosmetic content packs. The first – Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack – is dedicated to Ellen Ripley and offers a suit based on her look from the finale of the 1986 film "Aliens," a modified pulse rifle with a unique effect, as well as exclusive decals and customization elements. The second pack – Herk Mondo’s Pest Pack – is inspired by the comic book character Herk Mondo and adds a themed suit, a special weapon, and additional cosmetic items. Owners of the standard version can purchase this pack separately as the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition Upgrade for $19.99.

Additionally, the paid expansion Rain’s Jackson’s Star Pack, priced at $9.99, will be available on release day. It is based on the film "Alien: Romulus" (2024) and will add the suit of the main character Rain Carradine, her modified pulse rifle with an under-barrel cryo-weapon capable of freezing enemies, as well as new personalization elements.
