In Rocksteady's game universe, Basil Karlo's transformation into Clayface occurs between the events of Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Although Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series hasn't received any major new installments for several years, its influence on the Dark Knight's universe continues to be felt. As it turns out, the games were one of the main sources of inspiration for the creators of DC's upcoming film "Clayface".

Actor Matt Hagen, who plays the role, told Entertainment Weekly that in preparation for the role, he studied not only the famous graphic novel Batman: Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, but also the character's history in Rocksteady's games.

According to the actor, Clayface's storyline in the Batman: Arkham series makes a strong impression due to its psychological depth.

It's a really very effective and psychologically disturbing moment.
