Cyclops with god-like Phoenix powers will be the first additional character in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls

He will be part of the Year 1 Characters and Stage Pass.

The developers of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls have officially unveiled the first additional fighter to be included in the Year 1 Characters and Stage Pass. It will be Phoenix Cyclops – one of the most powerful versions of Scott Summers from Marvel comics.

The new trailer shows that this is far from the usual leader of the X-Men. Even with the Sentinels advancing, Storm is wary of his appearance, warning that his power can turn everything around "to ashes." Summers replies that he is in full control of the Phoenix Force, and then declares his intention to save all mutantkind, concluding his speech with the words: "A new era of the Phoenix begins now!".

The Phoenix Cyclops version is based on the events of the cult comic Avengers vs. X-Men. According to the crossover's plot, the Phoenix Force was divided among five hosts, including Cyclops and Magik. Having gained almost limitless power, they initially sought to use it for good, but subsequently came into conflict with the Avengers again. Even Professor Xavier expressed concerns about the consequences of their actions.

Phoenix Cyclops will be available in autumn 2026 to owners of the Year 1 Characters and Stage Pass. In addition to him, three more unannounced characters will appear during the first year of game support, which the developers will reveal later.
