The developers will still bring the DLC to release. The game will add maps, civilizations, and more.

In late July, the creators of the real-time strategy game Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition reminded players about the "The Baltic Powers" expansion. It was originally announced in 2024, but its release was canceled in 2025.

The developers stated that they reviewed feedback and decided to release the DLC in September. This expansion will feature two civilizations – the Poles (Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth) and the Danes (Dano-Norwegian Union), dozens of maps, and hero customization options:

Conquer dominance with two new civilizations: the Danes and the Poles. Test your strategic skills in challenging, high-stakes scenarios and new game modes, battle along the shores of the Baltic Sea and polar latitudes on over 25 new themed maps, and update your wardrobe with a set of hero cosmetic items.

An open beta test for the Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition expansion is currently underway on Steam. It will run until August 6.

You can add the "The Baltic Powers" expansion to your Steam wishlist via the following link. The release is scheduled for September 10, 2026.
