"Spider-Man: A New Day" Aims for Historic Record - Analysts Raise Box Office Forecasts

The fourth film starring Tom Holland could become the most successful solo Spider-Man film in domestic box office history.

According to updated forecasts from industry analysts and box office trackers, "Spider-Man: A New Day" has every chance to break the franchise record set by "Spider-Man: No Way Home" ($260.1 million domestically), and thus aim for a historic milestone.

While analysts initially cautiously predicted opening weekend revenues in the range of $180-190 million, after the release of fresh promotional materials, the numbers began to grow rapidly. Current conservative estimates give the film $230 million to $250 million in the US for its opening weekend. At the same time, more optimistic forecasts indicate a range of $260-300 million. If the upper limit is reached, the film starring Tom Holland will become the second film in the history of world cinema after "Avengers: Endgame" ($357.1 million) in terms of opening weekend revenues in North America.

In international markets, the opening weekend of "A New Day" is estimated at an impressive $500-550 million. This will make the film one of the main contenders for the title of the highest-grossing film of the year, however, according to current forecasts, it will not be able to surpass the result of "No Way Home," which grossed about $600 million worldwide in its debut weekend. In addition, the film still has to compete for this title with "Avengers: Doctor Doom" and Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey."

The world premiere of "Spider-Man: A New Day" is scheduled for July 31, 2026. The film is expected in Russian cinemas from August 20.
