Weta Workshop Opens Pre-Orders for "The Lord of the Rings" Rivendell Collectible Model

Collectors will have a chance to get a closer look at Rivendell - the place where the Council of Elrond decided to destroy the One Ring and the Fellowship of the Ring was formed. In 2027, Weta Workshop plans to release a new model of this elven sanctuary.

Fifteen years ago, Weta Workshop created a Rivendell diorama from "The Lord of the Rings" universe, which found its home with collectors worldwide. It has long been out of production, but demand for it never faded. After receiving a large number of messages from people, the team decided to bring it back.

But now, it's about a new and improved version. This model can now be pre-ordered for $899 (70,279 rubles).

This time, the team managed to capture more of the surrounding mountains. The landscape and waterways are more accurate to "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" trilogies than ever before, and the architectural detail reaches a level that Weta Workshop believes is the maximum possible at this scale.

This version also includes the courtyard where the Council of Elrond took place – the location (where the Fellowship was formed and the fate of the Ring was decided). This location has never before been physically recreated as part of the overall Rivendell complex, and the team put in tremendous effort to ensure its accurate placement.

On screen, the valley never had a fixed layout – it changed from shot to shot to suit the plot. Weta Workshop based it on an early panoramic plan that shows Rivendell in its entirety.

The model, primarily made of polystone, is 28 cm high, 52 cm wide, 39 cm deep, and weighs 10.4 kg. Its release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The first 1000 pre-order customers will receive a limited edition Rivendell art print, based on original concept art by Paul Lasaine – the visual effects art director who helped bring Middle-earth to the screen.
