The cast of the second season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" has been joined by British actress Kathryn Hunter ("Harry Potter", "Andor"). According to Redanian Intelligence, she will play the Dornish noblewoman Lady Vaith — presumably Cassella Vaith, head of House Vaith and former mistress of King Aegon IV Targaryen.
In George R. R. Martin's book series, Dunk and Egg's encounter with Lady Vaith remains off-screen — it occurs between the novellas "The Hedge Knight" and "The Sworn Sword". It is only known that Dunk accidentally angered the hot-tempered ruler, who was considered mad, which almost cost the heroes their heads. Apparently, these events will be shown for the first time in the second season.
This information echoes recent statements by showrunner Ira Parker. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said that the second season will feature events that were not in George Martin's published works: the writer found several unpublished pages in his archive and handed them over to the series' team.
The premiere of the second season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is scheduled for the first half of 2027.
