Some developers are showing competent examples of using AI technologies. The resulting Slotbound project is not being rushed to be called a "neural-slop."

Recently, an enthusiast under the nickname Optima Arch presented a demo version of Slotbound on Steam. The project's peculiarity is that it was "almost entirely" created using artificial intelligence:

I am not a developer and previously had almost no experience in programming or game development, but I was still able to create this game. Over the past 6 months, I have developed a roguelike-defense game with slot machine mechanics almost entirely with AI.

The author explained that 100% of the game's code was generated by AI — he doesn't know how to write code at all. In addition, many visual elements, animations, interface, backgrounds, pixel art of the main menu, and animations were also created by AI: "only a small part of the game assets was purchased or manually edited."

The creator of Slotbound explained that he mainly focused on game design, game balance, visual integrity, and gameplay polishing. AI "took over" most of the technical implementation:

Honestly, it was quite surreal to watch an idea in my head gradually turn into a real playable game, despite my lack of programming experience.

The result is Slotbound — a "roguelike" in the "autobattler+defense" genre, combining luck with strategy. Players need to spin a 3x3 slot machine to summon units. Using various items, players can manipulate chances and survive difficult challenges. According to the first comments, players were very satisfied.

You can add Slotbound to your Steam wishlist and try the demo by following this link. The game does not yet have an exact release date, but the developer indicated a release window — November 2026.
