Major Story Expansion Hell Rising Coming to Nioh 3 in August

Team NINJA plans two expansions.

Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA studio have officially unveiled the first story expansion for Nioh 3, titled Hell Rising. It will be released on August 19 for PC and PlayStation 5 and will be the first of two planned major expansions for the game.

The developers have published a debut trailer showcasing new story events and key gameplay innovations. One of the central themes of the expansion will be the return of the Crucible, and the campaign itself will continue to develop the concept of open game zones, which first appeared in Nioh 3 and became one of the main features of the new installment.

Special attention in the trailer is given to new weapons. Players will be able to use several new weapon types, including a throwable spinning blade, which will apparently be an exclusive weapon for the Ninja style, as well as a spear with a shield. In addition, firearms will finally be added to the hero's arsenal, previously only available to the character Takasugi Shinsaku in the main campaign. Fans of the game have repeatedly requested this feature after release.
