"It's Amazing": Kevin Feige Praises "Star Wars: Starfighter" with Ryan Gosling
The head of Marvel Studios has already seen Shawn Levy's Star Wars film.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige watched the film "Star Wars: Starfighter" starring Ryan Gosling and was pleased with what he saw. The producer shared his impressions in an interview with Collider after the Marvel Studios presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2026:
"It's amazing. I didn't need to see the movie to know how good these two are. But I watched it as a Star Wars fan, and it's amazing."
By "these two," Feige meant Ryan Gosling and director Shawn Levy. They will soon work together again: Marvel Studios has entrusted Levy with directing a solo Ghost Rider film, in which Gosling will play the lead role.
"Starfighter" will tell a standalone story set approximately five years after the events of "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker." Gosling will play a new character created specifically for the film.
The cast also includes Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams. The screenplay was written by Jonathan Tropper, who previously worked with Levy on "The Adam Project" and the series "Banshee."
The premiere of "Star Wars: Starfighter" is scheduled for May 28, 2027.
