"Supergirl" is now available at home: digital release took place
Millie Alcock's comic book movie reached home screens a month after its theatrical release.
"Supergirl" was released digitally 32 days after its theatrical premiere – the film is already available for purchase and rental on Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and other international platforms.
Along with the digital edition, buyers received over 90 minutes of bonus materials. The collection included videos about the filming, practical effects, alien races, music, Lobo, as well as deleted scenes and an animated short with Krypto.

Such a short theatrical window is due to weak box office results. According to current Box Office Mojo data, the film earned $71.63 million in North America and another $53 million in international markets. Total gross is $124.63 million against a production budget of approximately $170 million, excluding marketing.
Critics also gave the film a cool reception. On Rotten Tomatoes, "Supergirl" has a rating of 53% based on 362 reviews. Audiences were more favorable, giving the film 73%.
DC Studios head Peter Safran previously admitted that the film's results did not meet the company's expectations, but emphasized that the studio continues to adhere to its chosen strategy:
“While "Supergirl" did not meet our box office expectations, it is just one component of a broader, long-term DC Studios strategy that we remain confident in.”
Physical editions of "Supergirl" on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD will go on sale on September 8. The release date of the film on HBO Max subscription has not yet been announced.
