Mike Flanagan is in talks to participate in the Warhammer 40,000 series with Henry Cavill. According to Deadline, the director may become an executive producer of the project, and in addition to working on the script, take on the roles of showrunner and director.
If the parties reach an agreement, Flanagan will effectively lead the production of the series. However, Amazon MGM Studios and Games Workshop have not yet officially confirmed his appointment to these positions. The only thing the companies have already revealed is that Games Workshop's recent financial report stated that Flanagan had completed preliminary script drafts. Moreover, before the Deadline article was published, it was not even known that the first live-action Warhammer 40,000 project was being developed as a series, not a feature film.
Henry Cavill remains an executive producer of the project and will play one of the main roles. Amazon MGM Studios, United Artists, and Vertigo Entertainment are also involved in the development, whose executives Roy Lee and Natalie Viscuzo helped the actor secure the adaptation rights.
The production timeline and premiere date for the Warhammer 40,000 series have not yet been announced.
