New Record for Destin Daniel Cretton: "Spider-Man: A New Day" Receives Highest Audience Score in MCU History
The first viewers were completely thrilled with Peter Parker's new adventures.
"Spider-Man: A New Day" debuted with a 98% positive audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. This is the best current result among Spider-Man films and ties the MCU record set by "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." Thus, two films by Destin Daniel Cretton share the top spot for audience ratings.

Although critics' scores were slightly lower (91% on Rotten Tomatoes and 69 on Metacritic), the opinions of the audience and professional press largely coincide. Viewers particularly praise the spectacular action scenes, visual effects, and the acting of Tom Holland and Sadie Sink. Among the drawbacks, like critics, they most often mention the overloaded cast, which resulted in some characters receiving too little screen time, as well as chaotic storytelling and a heavy emphasis on setting up future events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"Spider-Man: A New Day" has already premiered in most countries worldwide. In Russia, the film is expected from August 20.
