The lead actor addressed viewers after Marvel's decision to cancel its highest-rated series in four years.
It was announced yesterday that Marvel has canceled the series "Wonder Man" after its first season. The decision came as a surprise, as the studio had officially renewed the show in March and confirmed the return of the main actors and creators.
The first season, released in late January 2026, became Marvel's highest-rated live-action series in four years. On Rotten Tomatoes, it received 91% positive reviews from critics and 87% positive audience feedback. Additionally, lead actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was nominated for an Emmy in the category of "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series."
After the cancellation, the actor addressed viewers on social media. Abdul-Mateen thanked the audience for their support and emphasized that he considers the project a success:

Marvel has not yet disclosed the reasons for the cancellation of "Wonder Man."
