The creators of Diablo IV are preparing to test a major update 3.2.0. It will be available to players on a special PTR server from August 4 to 11. The developers will offer to test changes and new features before the start of Season 15 — new unique items from the past, Soul Shards, character rebirth mechanics, the Horadric Mail system, and more will be available.

The rebirth system will allow converting "eternal characters" into seasonal ones. The player will be able to transfer the selected character to the seasonal world and reset the level to 1. However, after rebirth, the counter for the amount of time played on this character is not reset.

Upon rebirth, the following will be preserved:

  • Character's class, name, appearance, and state (normal or hardcore mode).
  • Cosmetic elements, including appearances, dyes, mounts, accessories, pets, portals, and gravestones.
  • Before the player activates "Rebirth," the game will warn that all items remaining on the character will be destroyed upon rebirth. The system will offer to transfer all items instead of destroying them. Rebirth is not possible while items remain in the character's bags or equipment.

The new "Horadric Mail" will allow Diablo IV developers to send rewards and messages directly to the account.

"Soul Shards" are unique items for inlaying: "they grant power, but can also bite hard." For example, the Shard of Torment will increase fire resistance, attack speed, and critical strike chance, but the cost of primary resources will increase by 30%.

In addition, ten unique items from the original Diablo, Diablo II, and Diablo III will be returned to the game.

For all classes:

  • Leoric's Crown (helmet)
  • Bracers of the First Men (gloves)
  • Ring of Royal Grandeur (ring)
  • Stone of Jordan (ring)
  • The Swampland Waders (chest armor). The developers explained that "The Swampland Waders" became part of the chest armor.

For some classes:

  • Arioc's Needle (two-handed polearm): Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn
  • Henri's Perquisition (off-hand focus): Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock
  • In-geom (one-handed sword): Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock
  • The Furnace (two-handed mace): Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock
  • Messerschmidt's Reaver (two-handed axe): Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock
