Tom Holland is already the third actor to play Peter Parker in live-action Spider-Man films, following Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The actor understands that the time will eventually come to pass the torch to the next performer – and claims that this moment has already been thought through:
"Yeah, we have a whole plan that we've been working on, I think, since 'No Way Home' finished. It's all planned out. Of course, a lot will still change, but I have a very clear idea of how the handover will happen. I think it's very exciting. At least, our meetings and discussions are incredibly inspiring to me. This is what I most want to do with this character."
His words do not mean that the actor is preparing to leave the MCU anytime soon. He previously stated that he would continue to play Peter Parker for as long as he is wanted in the role:
"I'll keep filming as long as they want me in this role. If the film performs well, we'll see what happens next."
Producer Amy Pascal also hopes that "A New Day" will kick off another trilogy, but Spider-Man's next appearance has not yet been announced. According to rumors, the hero will appear in "Avengers: Secret Wars," but the studio has not yet confirmed Holland's participation.
